As a lifelong resident of White Plains, David knows the people and places that make our city great.  David grew up attending our public schools, playing on our recreational sports teams, and taking part in the life of White Plains.  David is proud of the city in which he was born and cares about its future.

David began college at the age of sixteen at Simon's Rock College, an affiliate of Bard College in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.  After obtaining an Associate's degree, David transferred to American University in Washington, D.C. where he majored in Communications, Economics, Legal Studies and Political Science.  While in Washington David had the opportunity to intern for Congresswoman Nita M. Lowey (D-NY) and Congressman Anthony D. Weiner (D/I - NY).

During his college years David was fortunate to take part in the Semester at Sea Global Voyage, traveling around the world on a floating campus and visiting a dozen countries.  Later, David was a participant in the Comparative Justice Institute, studying criminal justice in Great Britain and the Netherlands.  Following his graduation from American University David taught English as a second language in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  David returned home to attend law school at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, from which he recently graduated.  During his legal education David had the privilege to work with the firm of Barasch & McGarry on behalf of New York City Firefighters and their families affected by the tragedy of September 11th.  Shortly after graduation, David began working for Regulatory Datacorp Int'l., LLC performing work on international copyright matters.

During 2004, David worked as a Campaign Aide to White Plains Assemblyman Adam Bradley in his successful bid for reelection.  He also worked for the Kerry campaign, most notably on his legal team as an election observer, ensuring a fair election in the state of Florida.  From 2005 - 2006, David served Assemblyman Bradley as Chief-of-Staff an Legal Counsel.  David left this position after Assemblyman Bradley's succesfull reelection campaign to take up an appointment as a Foreign Service Officer w/ the United States Department of State.  He currently serves as a United States Diplomat.

David's experiences around the world provide him with a unique perspective and has deepened his love and appreciation for the qualities of his home town.  David has now returned permanently to the city of his birth and will be working hard to improve the city for all of its residents.  Please join us in this effort and feel free to contact the Friends of David Epstein anytime.

David's mother and father are long-time residents of White Plains and are active members of the community.  His mother, Ellen, has been a teacher in the White Plains public schools for over thirty years and works at the White Plains Public Library as a teacher-in-the-library assisting children with their homework; David's father, Steven, was a cub scout troop leader, and coached David's sister, Erica, and her team in youth recreational soccer.  Erica herself is a product of the White Plains public school system, coached a girl's softball team in our youth recreational league and is currently completing her Master's degree in history.
